Friary Close is a Grade II listed Georgian House, set astride the City wall in Chichester, yet standing in its own grounds. There is a large walled garden, half of which is formally laid out. The other half consists of an orchard and fruit / vegetable garden. The Cathedral, shops and restaurants are within a few minutes walking distance. The Theatre is also within walking distance. Within easy reach are Chichester and Pagham Harbours, South Downs, Fishbourne Roman Palace, Arundel Castle, Goodwood and other historic houses. Portsmouth, with its Royal Naval Museum, Historic Ships and car ferry terminals is not far away.
Open 1 Feb - Mid December. Weekend bookings 2 nights minimum. (For advance booking). Substantial buffet style breakfast. No Smoking.
Supplement applicable for main Goodwood events and bank holidays. Sole occupancy 20% discount (not available on Friday or Saturday nights or Bank Holidays). Rates for special events - please enquire.
From the Railway Station - Walk or drive a short distance northwards to Southgate. Turn right into Market Avenue, and then first left into St. Johns Street. Pass Stride Estate Agents, then left into Friary Lane. We are the house at the end of Friary Lane.
