Glynde Place is a magnificent Elizabethan manor house with fine views of the South Downs. Built in 1569 from local flint and stone from Normandy, it was extensively added to in the 18thC, with the building of a new stable block and the erection of the distinctive lead wyverns. Inside the house there is a collection of fine paintings as well as family portraits, furniture, embroidery and silver which all belong to the family who have lived there for over 400 years
