Foredown Tower Countryside Centre

A converted water tower built in 1909 on the edge of the South Downs, now housing a camera obscura (an unusual viewing device used by artists and astronomers since the 17thC and a popular form of moving picture entertainment in Victorian times). There is a viewing gallery with telescope and binoculars, exhibits relating to astronomy, local history and the South Downs, together with a wildlife nature site.
